Kayaking in Mauricie this past June was probably one of the biggest highlights of my summer. This was an AMAZING day. My kayak was very good (however, not as good as the one I rented at Fundy in 2023) and we were one of the few people in this part of the park.
I spent the whole eight hours we were at the park kayaking around this lake. We stopped briefly for lunch on a rock and I had the chance to wander back into the woods, which is where I found a well-shrouded service trail covered in butterflies.
Mauricie has been on my bucket list for a while, so when Julia said that Navette Nature offered an excursion to this park from Montreal, I totally jumped at the occasion even though it was like a two hour drive from the city.
I will definitely need to go back to this park. Not only to kayak, but also to see the rest of the park. I think this is the biggest National Park I’ve ever been to. I couldn’t wrap my head around the map. I will want to do a longer stay w camping in the future for sure. I even noticed some campsites off the river where you could only access via kayak or canoe. That would be SO awesome. I’ll see you soon, Mauricie.
