Gault Nature Reserve of McGill University, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Québec

While staying with my sister in Montreal, we went on many excursions out of the city thanks to this service called Navette Nature. Our first stop was Gault, a place I’d never heard of before but was only about an hour outside of the city. This is where forestry and biology students at McGill can come learn experientially.

There were a couple mounts here, I believe the highest was 400m. We made it to the top and then found a secluded piece of the rock to eat some cheese and crackers and chill. The view was really great, but man do I hate that suburban sprawl.

I’m not sure if I would ever go back to Gault. I really enjoyed what we did and it was very cheap to get there; however, I kind of like the idea of camping and exploring new trails, there were only two or three other than the ones we went on that could be visited. The little river at the end of the hike was a beautiful place to hang out and read though.
